Floor marking tapes
Why are floor marking tapes necessary?
Floor marking tapes offer a simple way to make prohibitions in indoor and outdoor areas clear. According to the legal safety regulations for workplaces (ASR guidelines for safety and health protection marking), the marking of clearly visible floor markings is even mandatory!
These marking floor tapes must have a minimum width of 50 mm and a warning colour scheme such as red/white or black/yellow.
In addition to the legal requirements, it is also advisable to mark production, storage and dispatch with coloured tapes. By marking the floor, employees can recognise demarcated work areas or places where increased attention is required. Increase productivity by improving orderliness and compliance with work regulations.

The different colours make surfaces and functions clearly visible. In many industrial companies, a largely consistent application has become established, which can serve as a good guide for your own use. We offer floor marking tapes in the following colours and meanings:
- Yellow (aisles, paths and lanes, production cells)
- White (location of machines, equipment and plants)
- Orange (areas for quality control or intermediate storage)
- Red (safety/first aid, areas for waste and disposal, restricted storage area)
- Blue (materials and manufacturing, raw materials)
- Green (materials and manufacturing, finished goods)
- Black (materials and manufacturing, work in progress)
- Black/Yellow (areas with potential health hazards where special care is required)
- Black/White (areas where presence is not permitted for operational reasons)
- Red/White (areas with potential health hazards where special care is required)
- Green/White (emergency exits, escape routes, first aid, safety equipment)
Furthermore, you will also find individual colours such as light blue, light green, light grey, dark grey, violet and many more in our product portfolio.
What should be considered when introducing floor markings?
Before you apply floor marking tapes in your company, plan beforehand where and how it will be used. The rule is "as few colours as possible, as many as necessary". The colour system should be easy to understand and unambiguous. It is best to use colours that contrast with each other and take into account the colour and texture of the floor. After the planning phase, apply your floor marking tape to the floor:
Apply the floor marking tape:
Pull off the liner of the self-adhesive tape piece by piece and press the adhesive surface strongly against the floor! We recommend our pressure roller for this purpose.
Remove the floor marking tape:
Despite its high resistance, the tape can be easily removed without leaving any residue by pulling it firmly from the floor.
Note on the selection and bonding of floor markings and floor signs
Indoor or outdoor
E.g. plain concrete screed, asphalt or concrete pavement
Forklift, pallet truck, pedestrian traffic; low or heavy traffic
E.g. with segmented floor marking, by marking without restricting their function or by applying to places that are not heavily loaded.
Primer is required for asphalt, concrete and other absorbent (large-pored) substrates
Slip resistance or slip class R9 - R13
Dry, grease-free, dust-free and dirt-free subfloor with an installation temperature of >12°C
Note on the selection and bonding of floor markings and floor signs
If the above points are taken into account, all the advantages of self-adhesive products, such as immediate accessibility, individual marking options, quick removability and the high contribution to 5S, come into their own.
